It is Day 4 and today is a day where I am going to share with you some fun facts that you may not have known about me!
1. I am a minimalist.
I find myself on most days wearing little to no jewelry and wearing all black or black and white. I like wearing solids if I wear color. My home is minimally decorated and I'm a big fan of linear lines. I can be a messy person and at times disorganized, but when it comes to my taste, I like minimal. That's not to say that I don't enjoy artwork or other field of work being unique and not simple. I appreciate all of it!
2. I prefer sleeping on couches.
Most days when I'm sleeping at my own home, I will choose to sleep on my couch rather than my own bed. There's something about having the extra cushion on the side of me that makes me more comfortable. I've never found a way to be just as soothed laying in a bed. So if I go to a friend's house to stay the night, I am perfectly fine sleeping on the couch!
3. I used to sing competitively.
My mother signed me into a vocalist group of kids and teens when I was 12 years old. I only stayed with the group for a couple years because it started feeling like a chore. I went to singing competitions several times a year getting to travel all over my home state and even nationally. I won gold medals here and there but it didn't do a lot for me. I knew I was good at it but I wanted to sing on my own terms. It was nice to have gone through for the experience. My vocal couch yelled at me and made me cry when I told her I didn't want to take singing lessons anymore.
4. I know how to sew.
When I was in 5th grade, I took a small one day sewing course at a local church. I don't sew on a regular basis but if someone absolutely needed me to, I could figure it out again!
5. I am obsessed with my cats, Lucy and Chibi.
My two babies (they're sisters!) are my world. They are two of the most vocal cats on the planet. Very spunky and loving personalities. I promote that if you can, adopt your pets from local shelters! Save a life!
6. I eat Mexican food daily.
Call me obsessed and I will agree with you. I am deeply in love with trying different Mexican food restaurants, authentic and fast food. I have Taco Bell or Taco Mayo every single day although it's not my most healthiest habit...
7. I have a best friend that I can speak exclusively to in another "language."
Ever heard of Gibberish? Yeah, I'm that annoying kid that can speak really fast in it. My friend and I would talk to each other and school and other kids would get SUPER pissed because it's extremely obnoxious. I honestly didn't care because it's so much fun to talk in.
8. I had the same crush for six years from 1st to 6th grade.
Most people I went to school with will know who I'm talking about but it's true! I was madly in love with the same person for so long, I was determined to win his heart but not matter what I did, it never worked. So, in 6th grade I actually performed the song "Close to You" by the Carpenters at a school talent show as my final "I just don't care anymore"!
9. I fall asleep every night listening to rain sounds from Spotify.
The habit started about a month ago when I felt like I needed some kind of noise to replace the silence I was usually falling asleep to with not much success. Since having this new-found white noise, I fall asleep much more peacefully and easily!
10. I do not like accepting help.
It's a very strange thing... I don't like other people offering to help me with things. I'm not sure if it has something to do with my pride or what! I just often times find myself wanting to do things by myself, completely on my own so my work is my own. When I worked overnight at Walmart for a couple years, I would lift and throw freight (40-50 lbs boxes) by myself for 8 to 9 hours every night and I preferred when people didn't help me. This was very bad on my back! I strongly recommend getting help from others when necessary.
Opening up to others is something I enjoy doing because it's nice to allow someone else to feel that they can be open too! If you want to share some random facts about you in the comments, I'd love to read them!
